Legendary bassist James Jamerson would have turned 89 years old on Jan. 29th. It’s been over 40 years since he died at the age of only 47...virtually unknown at the time of his passing. As part of Motown’s Funk Brothers house band, he was the bass player behind hundreds of hit records, some of which we listened to on the February 2nd episode.
Reputedly the most recorded bassist ever, laying bass lines on countless tracks during seven decades of session work, turns 90 years young on March 24th. We sampled her prolific discography during the March 16th episode.
